Here’s the thing: Gwen Stefani‘s grand return to the music scene, “Baby Don’t Lie,” is fine, but it’s not the most original or awe-inspiring track of 2014, real talk. (It’s cool, but it’s certainly no “What You Waiting For?”)
This, however, is what I’m talking about: Gwenny Gwen just teased a full minute of a new track called “Spark The Fire” with Carson Daly on AMP Radio, and it sounds exactly like what Gwen Stefani in 2014 should sound like.
Sick beats. Wild accents. Zany lyrics. This bumps hard already a la “Hollaback Girl,” and it’s got so much more of Gwen’s DNA injected into the production.
The Pharrell-helmed cut reportedly already has a video, which means it’s probably going to be the next single. As it should be. I mean…
“OH EM GEE, OH EM GEE, I’M BACK AGAIN.”
If that isn’t an “I’m back, bitches” anthem, I don’t know what is.
