Calvin Harris‘ new record, Motion, is on the road to becoming a major Album Of 2014 contender: Between the incredible “Blame” with John Newman, the appropriately titled summer smash “Summer” and “Under Control” with Alesso and Hurts — as well as upcoming collabos with queens like Tinashe, Gwen Stefani and HAIM (gulp!) — the record’s promising to be something big.
Now, there’s another major cut to add to the mix: “Outside,” featuring the fluttery, fiery vocals of Miss Ellie Goulding.
It’s been a minute since the two teamed up on last year’s “I Need Your Love,” but as it turns out, they still make for a killer combo in the studio. This time around, however, that loving feeling’s gone cold and Ellie’s been left outside alone, Anastacia style.
“Gotta be so strong, there’s a power in what you do/Now every other day I be watching you,” she angrily declares before the electro-strings come surging in. “Oh…oh…show you what it feels like, now I’m on the outside!”
It’s a nice ‘n bitter break-up banger for the chilly season. Fitting, no?
‘Motion’ will be released on November 4. (iTunes)
